Dr Prasanthi Purusothaman (MBBS FRACGP) – a.k.a “Dr Prasanthi” or “Dr Puru” or simply “Dr P”
Dr Prasanthi Purusothaman graduated from The University of Western Sydney in 2014 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.
Dr Prasanthi – otherwise known as “Dr P” – has worked across various medical, surgical and emergency disciplines within tertiary and rural hospitals across NSW including Concord Repatriation General Hospital, RPA, Campbelltown Hospital, Bankstown Hospital, Lismore Base Hospital and Broken Hill Base Hospital.
Dr Prasanthi went on to complete her Fellowship in General Practice in late 2019 and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Dr Prasanthi is a well-loved GP by her patients from the Sutherland Shire area in NSW, and known for her interests in women’s health, paediatrics and dermatology. A lifelong interest in beauty, skin and the arts has led her naturally to explore the intersection of these interests within medicine in the field of cosmetics. She has worked across some of Sydney’s busiest and most well known clinics in the Eastern Suburbs, North Shore and CBD.
As a clinician, Dr Prasanthi is known for her warm persona and attention to detail. She believes in a collaborative approach to consultations. Her personable, transparent nature facilitates optimal results, good care and a strong doctor/patient relationship. Dr Prasanthi believes that every face is unique and hopes to honour those differences through natural enhancements that leave her patients looking refreshed and never overdone.
Dr Prasanthi has particular interest in using a mixture of treatments such as threads alongside dermal filler, anti-wrinkle, and biostimulator injectables to achieve holistic facial design. She is passionate about continued learning and is always seeking opportunities to refine her skills and learn new ones.
Dr Prasanthi’s passion for healthy skin and education extends into the realm of skincare where she possesses vast knowledge of ingredients and skin treatments that has led her to develop a soon to launch doctor led skincare line made with skin of colour in mind.
Outside of work, Dr Prasanthi enjoys reformer pilates, yoga and weight lifting and is also completing her 300hr yoga teacher training.
On days off, you will most likely catch her on a walk in with her beloved chocolate Labrador, named Benji. Dr Prasanthi has a thirst for travel and her favourite destination to date is Rio de Janeiro in Brazil!
