Our Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Procedure

The nose is the central feature of your face and it plays a key role in your appearance. It’s common for men and women to feel self-conscious about their nose and to notice imperfections before anyone else.

For suitable candidates, dermal filler to the nose, referred to as ‘non-surgical rhinoplasty’ offers an alternative option to more invasive rhinoplasty surgery. Nose dermal filler has minimal downtime and minimal discomfort. It can immediately improve the appearance and proportion of the nose, enhancing facial harmony and self-confidence.

Nose dermal filler can reduce visible humps on the nose, augment a flat bridge (saddle nose), help straighten a crooked nose, narrow the span of the nostrils, enhance the angle between the nose and the upper lip, lift a drooping nasal tip, and correct contour irregularities.

The procedure can be ideal for people looking to improve minor imperfections on the nose but don’t want the downtime or risks of traditional rhinoplasty surgery. It can also be a good option for patients who are thinking about surgical rhinoplasty and want to get a feel for the type of results that can be achieved but don’t want to commit to invasive surgery just yet.

A liquid rhinoplasty is performed at Pavilion Cosmetic Medicine, by our Senior Cosmetic Doctors, including Dr Toshi Zia and Dr Gavin Scriven a.k.a ‘Dr Gav’. Our Cosmetic Doctors have extensive experience performing non-surgical rhinoplasty using dermal filler to the nose. Our Cosmetic Doctors utilise the latest techniques and advancements to provide our patients with world-class results. Our Cosmetic Physicians remain at the forefront of cosmetic medicine, including Dr Gav completing a Master Class with the International Fellowship In Advanced Aesthetic Science (IFAAS).

For people who have realistic expectations of what can be achieved without surgery, non-surgical rhinoplasty using dermal filler can offer exceptional nasal reshaping results.

What is non-surgical rhinoplasty?

Liquid rhinoplasty is a quick, virtually painless procedure using injectable dermal fillers. It is performed by Dr Gav and Dr Toshi in our clinic at Pavilion Cosmetic Medicine.

While protrusions are not removed like they are during surgical rhinoplasty, non-surgical rhinoplasty using dermal filler can be used to straighten and improve the shape of the nose and correct any hollows, as well as enhance the nasal tip – without the downtime, cost and risks associated with surgery.

In many cases, the appearance of a large or prominent nose can also be improved, creating the illusion of a smaller nose with careful technique and precision placement of dermal filler.

At your scheduled follow-up, a top-up treatment may be recommended to finesse the final outcome.

What to expect

Your Treatment Experience

We aim to provide you with the very best non-surgical rhinoplasty experience starting with a thorough consultation with one of our Cosmetic Doctors about your concerns and what you are realistically hoping to achieve. Our Doctor will assess your nose and overall facial anatomy, and advise on the best treatment plan to achieve your desired results.

Before treatment, a local anaesthetic cream is applied to the area for 30 minutes. After the numbing takes effect, our Doctor will inject tiny amounts of dermal filler into precise areas on and around your nose. You might feel a slight pinching or pressure while this is done but you should feel minimal pain or discomfort.

While treatment will vary from patient to patient, the procedure itself typically only takes around 30 minutes.

There is minimal downtime associated with non-surgical rhinoplasty, which makes it a popular procedure with patients living busy lives. Some swelling can appear straight after the procedure and minor bruising, but this will normally fade on its own after around 24 hours.

We find that most patients do not take any time off work for non-surgical rhinoplasty. Since there is minimal recovery, most patients feel comfortable going back to the office straight away.

Your Questions Answered

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Am I a good candidate for non-surgical rhinoplasty?

Ideal candidates for non-surgical rhinoplasty have minor external nasal deformities, depressions, asymmetries or have a collapsed nasal bridge or saddle nose. It can also be used for post-surgical rhinoplasty corrections in many cases.

While significant improvements can be achieved with nose filler, it’s important to be realistic that it may not be suited for more major defects of the nose, nor will it improve breathing or function issues. We will conduct a thorough consultation with you in order to fully understand your concerns and desired results. It is our objective to meet your needs and also recognise when non-surgical rhinoplasty may not be appropriate for you.

How long do results of non-surgical rhinoplasty last?

The results of non-surgical rhinoplasty are temporary, unlike a surgical rhinoplasty which is permanent. Depending on the type of filler used – temporary or longer lasting – non-surgical rhinoplasty can last around 6-18 months.

Are there any risks with nose filler?

Any cosmetic procedure carries a small possibility of complications, however when performed by an experienced Doctor injector, non-surgical rhinoplasty has minimal risks. More common side effects include temporary redness, swelling and some bruising at the injection sites. During your consultation, our Cosmetic Doctor will thoroughly explain the procedure and any associated risks or complications.

Does nose filler hurt?

There is little or no pain and minimal discomfort associated with liquid rhinoplasty. Prior to your procedure, we will apply a topical local anaesthetic to ensure your skin is numb for treatment.

Your nose may feel tender to touch for a few days after treatment, but generally you should feel no discomfort.

How much is non-surgical rhinoplasty?

Costs of a liquid rhinoplasty vary depending on what kind of filler is used and how many injections you need. During your consultation, we will provide you with a tailored quote, after taking into account your concerns and the results you wish to achieve.
